Healthcare Organizations Executive

Job Description

The Florida Hospital Association (FHA), leading voice and advocate for the Florida hospital community, has retained WittKieffer to aid in the recruitment of the President and Chief Executive Officer.

FHA represents more than 200 Florida hospitals and health systems, advocating proactively on their behalf and assisting members in their mission of community service and care to patients. Since 1927, FHA has supported its members through representation and advocacy, education, and informational services, to provide the highest quality of care to the patients they serve. FHA provides members with the necessary leadership and access to valuable reports and resources to help hospitals face today’s changing healthcare environment challenges.

Reporting to the Board of Trustees, the President will work closely with the board, member organizations and FHA staff to develop the strategic vision to achieve the organization’s goals and objectives and ensure FHA continues to pursue initiatives and positions that are reflective of its members and support the current and future needs of the State of Florida. Facing the challenging healthcare environment, the President will focus on representing the membership and being attuned to every member, both in terms of their individual needs and the collective advocacy priorities. The ability to advocate for solutions that capitalize on similarities of focus in the member institutions will be essential. The key to success for the President and CEO will lie in their ability to elevate a broader, more holistic conversation about healthcare issues and a variety of factors to rally the membership around a common strategy and message.

Candidates should have experience at the senior management level of a complex member organization, healthcare provider, healthcare policy organization, or related entity. Well-established advocacy experience and skills, with a personal track record of interacting regularly and effectively with local, state and federal government officials, other healthcare organizations, and the media is required. The ideal candidate will be a visionary and superb communicator, with an ability to drive an agenda that FHA members and its most critical stakeholders will embrace.
